Hello Kindergarten Griffins!
Once again, thank you for your support as our scholars work hard to improve their pencil grips, remember the Spalding clock for the direction their pencil moves, and learn to write letters with Spalding formations. Please be sure to carefully review the handwriting homework that is coming home in your child's take home folder this week. An adult should recite the letter formation. The student should say the phonogram sound(s) as they write. Please watch their writing to ensure they are working on pencil grip, starting and stopping at the correct spots, and finger spacing between formations. We do not erase in Spalding, so have your scholar do their best and try again 'next door' on the next formation.
Another thing to continue practicing is number formation, as we have started to take off half points for incorrect formation and backwards letters. Also practice having your child recognize numbers and counting as they point.
