Hello, Kindergarten Griffins!
Thank you for your support as our scholars work hard to improve their pencil grips, remember the Spalding clock for the direction their pencil moves, and learn to write letters with Spalding formations. Please be sure to carefully review the handwriting homework that is coming home in your child's take home folder this week. An adult should recite the letter formation. The student should say the phonogram sound(s) as they write. Please watch their writing to ensure they are working on pencil grip, starting and stopping at the correct spots, and finger spacing between formations. We do not erase in Spalding, so have your scholar do their best and try again 'next door' on the next formation. Thank you for your support!
We have learned the following phonograms that will appear on the first Spalding test this Friday and should be practiced with flashcards each night for homework: o, c, a, d, f, g, s, qu. This week you may add to the stack of flashcards: b, e, h. Please read earlier blog posts to find the links for videos of the phonogram sounds and where to purchase them if needed. Thank you!
