This past week we had Curriculum Night, and we had a quick discussion about the importance of completing homework each day as it an extension of that day's lessons. Our Spalding writing homework covers what we learned in class, as well as prepare us for the next day's lesson. Catching up and completing multiple days of work at the end of the week can be stressful for our scholars and them to school unprepared.
After these early weeks of adjusting to Kindergarten, learning procedures, and having homework, the Kindergarten team would like to continue to establish good habits, including homework being turned in on time. As mentioned at Curriculum Night, The Lower School homework policy states:
Homework/Make-up Work Late Policy
-10% off if not turned in the AM the day is due
-50% off if turned in 24 hrs late (the next day)
-75% off if turned in 48 hrs late
-0% after 48 hrs late
This policy also applies to make-up from an excused absence. Students will have the number of days they were absent to make-up and return work, i.e., Susan is ill and misses 2 school days, she will have 2 days to make-up and return her work without penalty.
