Hello, Kindergarten Griffins!
I hope you all enjoyed your weekend! Please make sure to read through the blog thoroughly. We hope you all enjoy your Winter Break!
This Week:
Gingerbread Celebration:
An email with the sign-up for our Kindergarten Gingerbread Boy Celebration went out last week, so please make sure to start bringing in anything that you signed up for. The celebration will be held this Thursday, December 18th. Students will not need a snack (it will be provided), only a lunch and a water bottle on this day- classes will have normal lunch in the MPR with either a lunch from home or a hot lunch.
Please send craft and snack contributions on Tuesday, December 16th so we can prepare everything beforehand. Any items can also be dropped off at the front desk labeled "Kinder Gingerbread Celebration." Thank you!
Reading Bags/Check-Ins:
Reading logs still need to be signed and completed each night for homework. Please make sure that your child brings their reading bags back to school each day in their backpack. We have started reading with your child one-on-one, and our goal is twice a week per student, however, it varies by week when your child reads with their teacher and how often. Your child will receive a new list or book, as the teacher assess for fluency and comprehension when reading with each scholar.
This week your scholar will only have one reading check-in due to mCLASS testing and celebration! Thank you for your understanding and patience.
Library:
KA and KB Library: Wednesday
KC and KD Library: Thursday (canceled due to celebration)
Independent Study Projects:
Packets were sent home the first week of December. At the top of the packet, your scholar's assigned animal was written. Please read through the packet, and have the project fully completed by January 13, 2026, to be presented in front of the class. This will count as a test grade in science for next quarter. More information was sent by GHNO, and an extra copy of the packet will be sent in the Monday email if you need to reprint at home.
Parent-Teacher Conferences:
January 7-9, 2026
The sign-up links below will close at noon on Dec. 18th. Conferences on Wednesday will exclusively be offered via Zoom. Conferences on Thursday and Friday will exclusively be in-person. Zoom links will be sent out later, via email to the applicable families.
